Acceptable Use Policy

People trust QR codes before they can see where they lead. To protect them, codes on QR For Life must not point to, or be used for:

• phishing, or pages that collect passwords, payment or identity details under false pretences;
• malware, unwanted software, or deceptive downloads;
• scams, fraud, fake invoices, or impersonating another person, company or government body;
• illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, or anything that infringes others' rights;
• harassment, threats, or content promoting violence;
• spam, or disguising another link shortener's destination;
• parking fines, tax or bank "payment" pages that are not operated by the real organisation.

How we enforce this

• Destinations are checked with Google Web Risk when created or changed, and re-checked regularly.
• New accounts have limits on how often destinations can change.
• Anyone can report a code. We review reports quickly.
• We may block a code (scanners see a safety warning), suspend a workspace, or close an account. We will tell the owner by email unless doing so would put people at risk.
